Lipuma`s Coney Island in Rochester

This place is wonderful at all times of the year. The service at the counter is always upbeat & speedy. Don't let a line out the door deter you from stopping inFor a true Detroit Coney fix, this is the place. They have inside seating, a covered patio & picnic tables outside right on the river, where the ducks hang out begging for fries!They offer more than traditional Coney items, including a Greek salad to die for, etc.My only issue is the lack of parking behind the restaurant.

The hot dogs are great, we went for the Chicago style hot dogs and they were amazing. The services is great and all the staff is very friendly. If you want a specialty style hot dog this is the place. Enjoy!

Whenever we work down in Rochester we stop in for some of the best hotdog's in Michigan. The service is quick and friendly and they only except cash.

The food is always fresh and flavorful, employees hands out great customer service. I liked how clean it is and character. Would recommend to others.

Nice cozy place. They offer multiple kinds of coney dogs among other things. I had the normal coney and it was delicious. They offered a Russian, New York, Chicago and more styles of coneys. They also had a coney burger. I got the smallest Greek salad and it was a lot bigger than I expected. The staff was very friendly and courteous.

*Cash only. *Parking is limited. If there's a line park in one of the public lots across the street as there is a tunnel under the road right there.Good dogs with variety of topping choices. When busy there is a line but they're fast. Limited indoor seating but a lot outside and on the patio.

Lipuma's is an icon! The food has always been great every single time I have ever gone in there, and over the last 30 years that would equate to several hundred visits :-). Make sure you have cash, they do not take any form of plastic and if you're going to go at mealtime expect to wait and have little seating available. They do have a deck for extra seating and that is sealed off and heated for the winter months. If you've never been to this Coney Island you have truly not being to the best Coney ever!

We are on a quest to try a different coney each month this year. This one came highly recommended. It did not disappoint. The food was good and arrived quickly. This is a cash only restaurant.

Low prices for amazing food. if i have any cash with me and I'm downtown i think of here first. get the fries you will not regret it.

The employees are all trained and have great customer service attitudes. Best dogs I've had in 25 years.

I've been eating here since I was a kid. We used to come here every Friday, senior year in high school and I still try to stop in for a bite whenever I'm visiting family. My go to order is 1 Coney, 1 Chicago, and chili fries. Never disappointed. The old man is still there and Bill is often manning the grill as well. True family business and a staple of Rochester history to boot.

Was told for YEARS how "amazing" their food was, but in reality it is the most flavorless and bland I have ever had in my life. Disappointed honestly.

I've been eating Lipuma's for over 35 years! They have their act together and it blows my mind how fast they can put your order. while I no longer live on this side of town, I make the track from northville back to eat here several times a year. This post-pandemic shutdown visit did not disappoint. Great job fellas! A+++++

They are known for their coneys but I absolutely love their tacos!! The owner is always chatting it up with the regulars and the guys behind the counter are always friendly - just a friendly place all around! Been coming here for 30 years. Love 'em!!

Our family, like so many have indulged in the amazing Coney options at Lipuma's for over 45 years. The Coney's are classic...or NOT (tons of options these days) the outdoor seating in picturesque and the overall results are a great time, yummy food and memories to embrace.

Great staff went out of their way to be kind and helpful. Very patient. Buns were a little "every-day". Meat was not a big deal. People at my table liked their Coneys. I had a hot dog. Nothing special. Problem parking. Best to park somewhere far away then walk...and walk some more.

I get to eat here a lot since I work right next to it. I like how their service is always awesome and they keep the spot well kept constantly. Prices are affordable and they serve large portions.

This place is a Mainstay of Rochester Michigan the hot dogs here are outstanding so are the tacos so if you're ever in Rochester stop on by they are one of the best little hot dog stands in Michigan

This place I have never been to. Really great Coney dog than others.

So glad Lipuma's has reopened from COVID restrictions. I felt safe going into the restaurant to pick up carryout. All the staff had masks on and are following social distance guidelines with tables outside. Welcome back Lipuma's!! We'll see you all summer long!!

I love this spot. I don't go as often as I should. It always surprises me how fast I get my order. Cool staff and a chill atmosphere with an outside patio next to Clinton River. Awesome location. Lipuma's Coney Island is a must

You can'tbeat Lipuma's for great dogs & chili-cheese fries! Right now, they are doing a great job of marking off 6' distances, and keeping the line moving fast, even with all precautions in place.

I've been coming here my entire life. Great coneys, tacos and burritos. Their other types of dogs are also a nice change. Kevin makes awesome homemade soups.We sometimes have large carry out orders for work with lots of customizations and they always get the order correct. On the very rare occasion that something is wrong/missing they've driven it down to us. Best coney island in town! Great location on the river.CASH ONLY

DELICIOUS Coney dogs for a great price. The menu has some variety (dogs, burgers, tacos, etc), and they serve it to you almost instantly. Seating inside was limited, but they have a large patio as well as plenty of outdoor seating. I left extremely satisfied.

Love going here. Good dogs at an affordable price. Right on the Paint Creek, eating outside is beautiful. Honest and trustworthy staff.

The Coney special which is a hamburger loose with a Coney Dog in the middle Chilli mustard and onions. Is superb!Also the owner does a sensational job of hiring a quality carrying staff

Love this classic piece of history. Family owned for 50 years. Great food, quick service! Kids love it there. It’s cash only but I think they gave a bank machine there if needed. We will definitely be back!

My husband took me here because it is a Rochester icon and although I was born in Rochester, I never had the chance to go. It was delicious! And I loved the atmosphere...the staff was really nice and patient with everyone even though there was a line well out the front door. The owner was also there and was walking through greeting people and helping clean. Hopefully I will have an opportunity to go back soon!

So good...been coming here since I was a kid. Live in GA now, anytime I get back to MI Lipuma's is an absolute must-visit. The best coney dogs, tacos, and chili cheese fries around. Go eat it!!!

I miss coming here! My grandma would bring me here when I was a kid. When I got older I happened to go to Rochester High so guess where my friend and I would walk to after school.....Lipumas. Cheese fries, coney and a mountain dew! The tacos are great also! I would scrape up change to go get a cheese fry sometimes haha. The guys are very friendly and remember the regulars. Definitely recommend over any other coney place!

The ONLY coney place around where my husband ate both of his coneys... It definitely took him back to his childhood.. it was fast and quiet for a quick bite in an iconic lil spot... my only complaint was the floors and booths were a bit “crummy” just needs to be swept and thoroughly cleaned...

The place is great, and I'd usually give it a 4 star, but it's cash only, which is a tad annoying, only because the ATM is so confusing.
